Job Description Summary

Rogers State University is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant to work in the Department of Communications. Under general supervision, this position will perform administrative support to the Department of Communications.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

*Knowledge of personal computers, software packages, and office equipment.
*Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
*Ability to effectively interact with people.
*Ability to provide written and verbal communication.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality.
*Ability to work independently and organize work procedures.

Preferred Qualification Summary
Physical Demands

Occasional prolonged sitting or standing. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds with or without minimal assistance.

Required Degree

*Associate’s Degree or other administrative experience.
*Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
*Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

Licenses and Certifications
Essential Duties

*Provide administrative support to the Department Head and faculty.
*Maintain and monitor office expenditures.
*Enter requisitions and prepare invoices for payment.
*Maintain and reconcile budget(s).
*Maintain an up-to-date inventory of department equipment.
*Organize and maintain office files/records.
*Coordinate department advisement.
*Prepare, distribute, and file faculty evaluations.
*Coordinate and monitor student workers.
*Provide the department and dean with research and data collection/analysis in relation to department programs and projects.
*Receive phone calls and direct callers appropriately.
*Prepare and/or process various documents, assist with course scheduling, make travel arrangements, coordinate meetings and other related duties as necessary.
*Prepare full-time and part-time faculty academic contracts, PR-II forms, travel vouchers, payroll memos, position vacancies, job descriptions, purchase orders, leave requests, separation forms, and special service contracts.
